I have been baking my little heart out all morning, my feet are killing me!
The sad thing is… I’ve only made 2 types of cookies and one type of date bar! Ahh!
My first batch did not turn out so good:
These were only in the over for about 5 minutes…
How embarrassing!
Tell me, what is your worst baking/cooking experience?
& How do you like the new header?
I liked it while I was making it, but the more I look at it the more I think it screams “HELP! I’M TOO BOLD AND BUSY COMPARED TO EVERYTHING ELSE!” Whatevs.
i dont think its too busy, i like it i think its cute.
baking fails suck, but live and learn i guess. i dont bake much so i dont have too many stories. but i did try this bread last year right from a recipe book, and i followed it exactly, and it still turned out hard as a rock, and tasted terrible to boot. I blame it on the molasses that was in the recipe, who makes a bread recipe with molasses, ick. lol
haha this is my every time I bake! oops after oops! 😉
Your new header is so cute!!!!!!!!!!! ahhh I heart the litlte “thats what we eat!” tagline! mwah!
i love the new header!!! its so cute girl!
I like the header! It looks really cute actually.
I actually think the header is SUPER cute!!!
I LOVE the new header!! So bright and cheery:) And I sure wish I was at your house right now…eating your freshly baked cookies, nom nom nom!
Aww, your header is too cute! Love it! 🙂
I’ve had many baking fails.. usually it’s just nasty batter that I end up sending down the garbage disposal, lol.
I looove your header. It’s super cute 🙂 I really need to make one. The whole simple black and white thing just isn’t cutting it for me anymore. Neither are my webcam pictures on my blog, but they’ll have to do until I get another camera.
Oh god, I know what you mean about your feet hurting when you’re baking. Bruuuutal. Last year I baked for an entire day in the summer (hot weather + hot oven = bad enough. Being on your feet all day = even worse) for a bake sale at my local humane society. I also make a whole ton of recipe cards to go with the baked goods, and I volunteered to help set up before the event the next day. I think I got like, four hours of sleep. It was totally worth it, though. Everyone was impressed with the stuff I brought and didn’t believe it was all vegan. I used whole grain flours too, so it was all relatively healthy. The worst (and only bad, really) experience I had baking was a few days ago. I tried to make vegan gluten-free sugar-free cinnamon rolls adapted from a “normal” recipe for cinnamon rolls. They were sooo gross. I’ve never made anything I couldn’t eat before I made these, but I had to spit the one I was eating out and threw the whole batch in the garbage. I’m so mad because I wasted precious gluten free flour and brown rice syrup. Oh well. I think I’ll just stick to spelt flour next time. It never seems to fail me like other flours have.
